Lacy
I love Maggie Gyllenhall. I think she is unique, interesting, her own person. I like the lace dress except for a few things. First, the homage to exercise wear doesn't seem to go with lace. Hence the neckline should be different in my view. The bodice is very plain because of the neckline. The whole thing needs some sort of enhancement. Maybe the hair should be down. Something is wrong.
I'm not a Scarjo fan. Never have been. Aside from the pigeon toed stance she habitually adopts, she seems to just miss the mark on a lot of her fashions. This one is no exception. The dress is simply too close to the color of her skin to have any mark of distinction. It's too long by about 4 inches. It has no enhancements at all. Sad.
It isn't easy to make this starlet? look good any more. But this one is one of the worst efforts I have seen. It looks as if someone took gym shorts and put a nightgown over them. Then they added suede huge booties. The lace look simply fails here. Nuff said.

I love the jacket
That outfit is just what I want to wear. The jacket is adorable and I love the pink but I'd like to see more of it. The jeans look soft and comfy. I'm still trying to understand why it looks good to young people to have their jeans so tight they pull across the leg in many places. It does look uncomfortable to me.
And I'm having trouble with the holes in the jeans. Boy am I out of style.

Jill Sander
Jill Sander has an interpretation of the 60"s |
I am so not into this tent thing. Of course not all of the fashions are tents. There are very slim pants and boxy jackets. There are some pretty fitted sweaters, sleeveless and with sleeves. Almost everything is in a really dark color so it's hard to see detail. Anyway, the pictured dresses, if they really are dresses, look a lot like someone used a cheap blanket to make a dress for grandma and then kept it. The sheer size of the dresses effectively hides any and all imperfections. But picture this dress on Brooklyn Decker. It would effectively hide all of her good points too. Boy am I glad the dresses will be only available for those with a lot of money. Seriously, I think they look like gigantic bathrobes.
It's a coat. The model probably wears a size 0 or smaller. I am a 2Xand it would fit me. Nuff said.

Is it any wonder?
any more? Is it any wonder Snooki, for instance, thinks fur boots go with short shorts? Is it
any wonder that in terms of fashion, I'm totally confused?
I have seen countless couture shows and magazine pieces which show the model with her hair totally frizzed and dry looking. I have seen countless commercials on shampoos that propose to do away with this totally awful style.
I've seen the new feather inserts in the hair. I guess it was only a matter of time someone took it way too far.
After the Royal Wedding and the Princess hat, I don't think this is much of a surprise. I do think running around in this sort of stuff when not performing is sort of overdoing it. A lot.
I am not able to do anything about any of these things. They happen in the same world we all live in. And I remember when grown ups worried because Elvis Presley moved his hips.

Designers, oh my! part one
As usual, Dior makes a splash(mess) on the runway. I'm having trouble looking at the pictured fashions with a straight face. This is the Haute Couture collection. That essentially means that only women of great means will be able to purchase the fashions. They will then wear them to fancy dress affairs. With a straight face. The first offering I dub "The Tulle Tale".
This offering from Dior Is my idea of wrapping something in newspaper and wrapping paper. I dub this one "Poorly Wrapped".
Above is my idea of what to do with multi-colored garbage bags. I dub this one "Taking Out The Trash"
Many gifts come wrapped in these colors, done in tissue paper. I dub this one "Save The Wrapping Paper" because it can be reused.
My daughter and I disagree on these fashions to an extent. I say they are really strange. The hair, make-up and accessories all go to make the fashion feel somewhat other than real. And to me they could only be worn by really thin people because otherwise the added volume of fabric would make the average woman look fat. Not a good thing.

Paz de la Huerta
I have no clue who this woman is. I am sure, however, that she is breaking a ton of fashion rules. The dress is easy to see through and it has a drawstring on the rear. I'm assuming it is supposed to make the dress cup the buttocks. It does do that. It also forms a tail.
I see this as a very open invitation to all men.

Sometimes
Sometimes she gets it right, sometimes she doesn't. This time she didn't. I believe the operative word here is Overkill.
Blake Lively and Claudia Schiffer evidently believe that in spite of the cut of the dress, the body must show. I really think Blake's dress could have been pretty if the bottom were solid lace.
This one fits beautifully, is cut well, and is a marriage of two extremely different fabrics. It just doesn't work. At all.
I don't know if there is a stylist involved here but I wouldn't let any of these garments out the door. I believe that the practice of dressing should strive for beauty. I don't find any in dresses that are undergarments, that are overdone snakeskin, that combine lace and heavy wooly look. Yuck.
