You want Vintage

For those of the younger generation who really love vintage. The Source.

A sense of humor

Some people don't have a sense of humor. Some do. I think I have found some who do. The first group is from a fashion show in Australia. The second, I don't know. But the outfits are certainly unusual.

Carolina

I am really surprised that Carolina Herrera would put a dress on a model that looks like it doesn't fit. I'm not sure if the cut or the model is the problem.

Legs?

My opinion of the legs on the models in these pics is that they are too thin and truly shapeless. The designers made a move(short lived) to stay away from models that are so thin as to inspire anorexia. But there they are. I wonder what happens to models and just regular girls who diet to stay not just thin but skinny. I so believe they are causing damage to their bodies. Or am I just jealous?

Little girls in mom's clothes

I am amazed at how much fabric is in use in the spring collections. The white dress looks like a size 12 on a size 4 figure. The tent dress, while beautiful fabric, looks as if I could wear it. The blue pants have lots of extra fabric where many women have lots of extra. And the green sheet has been gathered on a skinny girl with a pretty good looking belt. I'll bet you could clothe a whole family in all that fabric.

Ahhhhhhh, Spring

At Blumarine, Anna Molinari has posted s collection that finally made me smile. She used a lot of tie-dye. But it was used with a big smile and lots of fun. I think the collection was probably fun to design and it will certainly be fun for women to wear. I don't envy the models their figures in the clothes because I think they are way too thin. But I do think many of the outfits could be translated to larger sizes and still be terrific looking. Happy Spring.

Antonio Berardi

News from the Catwalk.-----I've been trying to wade through the Spring Fashions available and I certainly have mined some gold. If you take a body without a hint of a curve and put it into a garment with curves this is what you can have. This is a collection which could only be worn by a pencil.

That's the thing

That's the thing about aging. It can be done beautifully.

Shorts?

Two of the outfits in the fall and winter collection runway show of a famous designer. The models look as if they are wearing underpants. The legs of the models look like shapeless twigs. I am not impressed.

Mourning

I am now mourning the passing of the tasteful little black dress. The dress which is supposed to take us anywhere has itself disappeared. In its place are see thru black dresses, cut out black dresses, and black dresses that are actually tops being worn as dresses. Whatever happened to taste? Of course, the dresses shown are actually being worn by children. Real women could not possibly think this is fashion.

Handbag

As a not young person I am in the midst of a slight dilemma. I am not an old person in mind or at heart. I am not a person who wants to appear old. There are some of the cutest clothes and accessories out there that I have seen in a long time.

I must admit that I was not a fan of the jeans that were cut so low that the b--- crack was showing. And the tops that came to just above the navel. After all, there were way too many really fat people wearing them. I find it ironic that these things became popular at a time when obesity is at an all time high among young people. I also found it difficult to find things to wear during this time because I was working and also because I just didn't fit the mold at all. I happen to be a bit too fat to wear anything that comes near the belly button. So I have happily said goodbye to the wonders of skin.

But what has happened to the stores. The gap between young and older is still really big. Now there are skinny jeans and sleeveless tops to contend with. What a wonderful change. And the overweight continue to wear these things and to scare the bejeesus out of me.

I think my conundrum is obvious in the pictures of the two bags I have chosen. The Dooney is quite youthful. It is obviously for the young. But the alternative is available for sale. Can everyone say Grandma? I just want some in between things. Some.

Some things

Some things scare me!

I think she's going blind

I think Jessica could do so much better in her fashion choices. The girl would look better if she avoided anything that sticks out from the body. I also think she would look wonderful with a Jenny McCarthy hairdo. That long stuff isn't her best look. And tooth cleanings would help.

Smiling, Why?

Naomi seems to either be wearing things to shock or throwing things. It makes me wonder who would choose her as a companion and why he would smile in the presence of that ridiculous outfit.

Even when the upper half

Even when the upper half doesn't look so bad the lower half is totally ugly.

She's got legs

No matter what, the designers are good at choosing models with really skinny legs.
At one point heroin chic was derided by news people and magazines. So now the models are thinner than ever. Can anyone say department store mannequin?

Cindy Lou Who?

Just wondering about the fate of good taste and the hairbrush.

If I saw this on the street

Would you? Wear this? Man or woman, would you?

LBD?

Little Black Dress+Little Navy Dress=Very little taste. Black ensemble is the pits. The navy dress etc lacks any oomph whatsoever. And it's too long. Better luck next time girls.
