Ha!

Miranda Kerr- Sports Illustrated model. This is an illustration. Maybe it illustrates what the other pictured persona need to see. I know it illustrates that Sports Illustrated needs to keep publishing the swimsuit edition. My fella smiles for months after it comes out.

Amy Winehouse-ostensible singer. Carries her own birdsnest on her head. Seriously, she does look healthier. Nuff said.

Sarah Michelle Gellar- I have always thought she is really cute. Now she comes out looking like my Grandma only younger. When you are young and cute, dress the part!!

Britney Spears- She has an odd idea about what is child friendly. And about what is attractive and sexy.

Pamela Anderson- Shows her age. And the Betsey Johnson presentation makes me want to throw up. What were they trying to show, the red glob of fabric, the crinoline, the ass?

Paris Hilton- A photo was taken of her with a guy's tongue sticking into her mouth. It was sincerely gross. I don't know how her sister can stand her. At least Nicky seems to have a little cool. Paris, it seems, has none.

Catherine Zeta Jones- You don't see much of her anymore. And when you do, there is much more of her to see.

Kirstie Alley- Speaking of more to see, I see that she has regained the weight. I am sorry about that. I truly don't believe that she lost as much as she said she did. But nonetheless, I know the feelings of failure she must have. Been there, done that. I do instant replays a lot. There isn't much that is more painful than fighting your own body and losing. What a bummer.

Julia Roberts- Has a movie out and is out of hiding for the time being. The rags are saying she is no longer box office queen. Where have they been hiding? There is a new box office queen every time certain celebs put out a new movie. Julia seems to be more worried about keeping a good marriage. Get off it!!!!!

Michael Douglas- I have asked before. What is the male word for cougar?

Taylor Swift is on CSI for one episode. Lets give her a hand for all the things she does. I have tried to write a song. Ha!

Jennifer Love Hewitt takes a lot of hits from the rags. Why?

Lara Spencer is always thin and gorgeous. How?

Rihanna seems to be back with Chris Brown. Why?

Michael Jackson is going to sing again. Who cares?

Is there a question on your mind? Shout it out. I have always loved to hear the common sense crowd speak up.

Hello. The best words are..........

No pics. No fashion. And from what I am reading on CNN and other news sites, no common sense.

First may I say that the fashion world is actually leading the doom and gloom future with the gray predictions walking the runways. I have read that one of the ways fashions reflect the bad economy, is that the hemlines go down. Well, to me, the best way of reflecting the bad economy would be for the prices to go down. That makes sense to me.

Rush Limbaugh seems to thing the White House wants him to be quiet. He believes that the president wants him to be thought of as stupid. Well, he is proving himself to be, if not stupid, at least out of touch. And he seems to think himself much more important than most I have spoken with think he is.

Barack Obama has made plans to overcome the country's financial woes. He has proposed the spending of billions of dollars. I don't know if it will work or not. But there are people who have been following his 45 days in office waiting for a mis-step. There are those who expected the economy to turn around immediately after the election. We need to think back. The previous administration took over a large country running in the black. They worked on the country for 8 years to bring it to the current position. There were 8 years worth of mistakes and blunders. There were 8
years of the administration not listening to the American people. That was the start of our financial problems. But it is not all by a long shot.

We loved the idea of conspicuous consumption. I jumped right on the bandwagon and bought purses, shoes, clothes, and jewelry. I loved to shop. I hated to save, though I did do some saving with the $5 method(saving all $5 bills I got). The magazines in the supermarkets proclaim IT girls, must haves in accessories and fashion, the latest in make up and hair. Not cheap, any of it. We Americans kept HSN, QVC, and other internet and TV shopping outlets hopping. A new package every day. Christmas, who needs it? We bought SUV's not to go off road but because everyone else was doing it. We purchased(at least in my city), homes which were overpriced and looked like everyone else' home. "No way I am buying an older home. I want new!" We watched the home channels to update our homes, the learning channels to update our look, and the news to remind ourselves that we were at war and there was a reason for the downturn in the economy. Couldn't be our fault. We were SPENDING.

So here we are. Some of us ae out of work. Others are suffering from lowered incomes. Retail businesses are failing or barely making it. And we are already 45 days into the new administration. Well, folks. Here is common sense. It took 8 years to get us into this mess. Overnight seems like too much to ask to get out of it. I believe the most important thing to do now is to take responsibility for the things we can do on our own and quit grousing about the government not turning things around overnight. We need to pay ATTENTION! Our spending, where and how much, is something we can control. How much help we give to others is something we can control. Supporting any, and I mean any, effort to improve the condition of the country is welcome. If I don't agree with the method, then I can come up with my own method of helping the country. DOING NOTHING BUT COMPLAIN IS NO LONGER AN OPTION.

Thanks for listening.

Extra, Extra

I am going to have a go at common sense today.

1. Anyone who dresses like the foto should be wearing a sign that says "come and get it"

2. The Bachelor is a jerk. If the scenes on the show were planned, he is a jerk, along with the whole heirarchy of the show. If they are real, He's Still a Jerk.

3. Ali Larter has an amazing way of looking feminine and being able to be a total
badass.

4. Eva Mendez has an amazing way of not looking good most of the time.(Stylist?)

5. Scarlett Johannsen changes her look constantly and yet constantly looks like a pigeon toed little girl playing dress up.

6. Angelina is often maligned for what she did to Aniston. What? That has been years and besides it has allowed Aniston to play the poor little dumpee and capitalize on it to keep a sad career alive.

7. Ashley Tisdale has a new photo shoot and CD. OK

8. Jennifer Hudson has a new photo shoot and CD. Wow is she good.

9. Michelle Obama is looking like just as amazing a person as her husband. Rush Limbaugh is looking like the jerk he is.

10. Adam Sandler-slapstick. Which isn't so funny now.

11. Sean Connery is still on my list of crushes with Mark Harmon and Paul Walker.

12. I wonder how Arnie is doing as governor with the current problems with recession. His job is among the many I wouldn't want.

13. Hold on. I think I see someone doing something right. It is. Reese Witherspoon is speaking about violence against women. Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday Morning, a new outlook

No pics today. Just some thoughtful thoughts.

Paris Hilton has been seen with a new guy to boldly go where so many have gone before. Ditto Madonna.

Reality shows- places where the likes of Tracy Chapman and Omarosa, Donald and Dennis Rodman, can fool themselves that people actually tune to see them. Actually people tune in to see the equivalent of train wrecks.

Dana Delaney- good actress, glad she is back on TV.

Jonas Bros don't seem to have the pull that Hannah Montana has had. Too bad.

Heidi Klum- has begun pushing a line of facial products just when I was thinking she looks tired and lumpy.

Alicia Keys- super at the Oscars. But the posing. Stop, arrange, stick the leg out through the slit. Smile, Move on.

Lake Bell- never has been good with make-up. At least I don't think she wears any. She will wear a pretty dress, severe hair, no makeup and the celeb mags gush over how beautiful she is. They need to get a grip.

Rene Zellweger- Should smile, not smirk.

Barbara Walters- not bad for an old lady.

David Letterman- he does a great job. Just too late to stay up for.

Clare Danes is looking happy and in love. Way to go.

Heather Mills is- Where???????

Justin Timberlake- multi-talented. Thank goodness for the younger crowd because some of those young people seem to get by on publicity alone.

Elle Fanning-younger sister of Dakota Fanning- is looking like a future beauty and star, just like her sister.

There are another couple of ideas here. Ignore anyone who says no global warming.
Stay away from people who are habitually complaining.
Smile.

Monday, Monday again

I pulled these from a website I can't remember. Next time I'll write it down. Anyway, they remind me of myself at different times in my life. Sometimes I manage to look really good. Sometimes the story is just the opposite. These women are human beings with foibles and good points. For once I will be nice because I can relate. The only difference in them and me is that no one was taking photos of me.

The good, the bad, and the ugly

The Good-----Kate Beckinsale, anytime, anywhere
Julianne Hough----doing anything
Cameron Diaz----from the neck down
The Bad----A Bag Lady Olsen
The unexpected back of Carmen Electra who is looking tired.
Cameron Diaz----from the neck up
The Ugly----Jennifer Anniston and her attitude about Brad and
Angie
Jessica Simpson's attitude about an ex who is supportive of her.
Hulk Hogan and his attitude about how wonderful he is.
Sheryl Crow and her fashion sense.
Samantha Ronson and the immature faces she makes when
the camera hits her.
Sharon Stone and her need to show her body. Note to Sharon---this seems like a totally needy
woman craving any sort of attention because she is no longer hot. You don't need to do it. You are still beautiful.
Faye Dunaway's attitude toward Hillary Duff and Bonnie and Clyde. No one knows how Hillary will do in the movie because she hasn't tried anything like it before. You sound like an old crow,Faye.
Jamie King is on Vegas, I think. Maybe. Could be. Not outstanding.
Elle McPherson thinks she is the body. She should look around at the newer models in Sports Illustrated.
Kate Bosworth makes a good coat hanger don't you think?
Ben Affleck seems to be enjoying fatherhood. Good.
Rihanna seems to have lost her mind.
Janet Jackson seems to like food.
I seem to be done.
